Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the X254-generation GLC200 4Matic as the new entry-level model in the local GLC lineup. It joins the range alongside the plug-in hybrid GLC350e 4Matic, which was introduced in September 2024. On the same day, Mercedes-Benz also introduced the plug-in hybrid GLE400e, further expanding its hybrid portfolio in Malaysia.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC200 represents a clear step forward in the luxury SUV segment, blending refined performance, intelligent technology, and modern design. Under the hood, the GLC200 4Matic is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine, producing 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque. This is combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, adding 17 kW (23 PS) and 205 Nm, driving all four wheels through a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission. The SUV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 221 km/h.
By comparison, the GLC350e shares the same petrol engine but adds a plug-in hybrid system for a combined output of 313 PS and 550 Nm, achieving 0–100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Its top speed is slightly lower at 218 km/h.
The GLC200 4Matic comes equipped with 20-inch AMG alloy wheels (front: 255/45R20, rear: 285/40R20) and Agility Control suspension with driver-selectable damping, ensuring a balanced and comfortable ride that is well-suited for both city driving and longer journeys.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC200 4Matic blends sporty character with refined elegance as the entry-level model in the new GLC lineup. It comes standard with AMG Line styling, giving it a more dynamic and assertive look. Inside, the GLC200 4Matic gets the AMG Line interior with Artico synthetic leather and no panoramic sunroof, unlike the GLC350e. It features electrically adjustable front seats with memory and heating, a Nappa leather multifunction steering wheel, anthracite lime-structure wood trim with metal-structure centre console accents (the GLC350e uses carbon-fibre-look trim), plus 64-colour ambient lighting, Thermatic climate control, rear door roller sunblinds, and heat- and noise-insulating glass. The Comfort Plus package adds Keyless Go, hands-free access, an Easy-Pack powered tailgate, the Mirror package, and a Boot Comfort package with electrically foldable rear backrests, a 12V outlet, and a load cover, while boot space is 620 litres (matching the old GLC300 and more than the GLC350e’s 490 litres due to its battery).
The latest MBUX system includes a 12.3-inch digital cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen with fingerprint sensor and transparent bonnet view, supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and adds a wireless charger and six USB-C fast-charging ports. Optional Digital Extras include MBUX Navigation Premium, MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, and live traffic, all managed via the Mercedes-Benz app.
Safety & Driver Assistance: Confidence Comes Standard
